Having decided to repair her damaged social life, Max goes clubbing with Original Cindy, but the experience takes a detour as a transgenic led group of "Lost Boys and Girls" runs roughshod over the patrons wreaking havoc as they go. The leader turns out to be from Manticore and gives the members of this group of misfits a sense of belonging, but not without exacting a steep price. Sam Witwer (Being Human US) guest stars as the charismatic commander of the group who dispenses his blood to the members of his church.

Max ends up in the hands of the CDC after she takes a bullet to the gut in what began as a simple attempt to gas for motorcycle. Dr. Sam Carr (Brian Markinson) comes to Max's aid, but it's too little too late as Ames White interrupts his golf practice after learning that a barcode kid has been admitted to the hospital. In the end Max returns home, but her file has found its way to DC.

Before embarking on our Dark Angel discussion, we examine the excitement surrounding the release of Star Wars VII and the coincidence associated with one of the episode's plot points. While another Manticore monster wreaks havoc on the streets, Max continues her pursuit of a cure for the virus that unceasingly plagues her relationship with Logan. Alec buys Asha drinks at Crash, and at the end of the evening, she goes home with him. But it's his relationship with Max that we really need to keep our eyes on.

Dave discusses the importance of staying true to the source material in anticipation of the SyFy event series Childhood's End. Is there resolution to the Star Wars vs Star Trek debate? Dave and Wayne plan to give it a go. With the wealth of genre material on television these days, how does anyone keep up? Did you call in sick on November 21 in anticipation of a binge watch of Amazon's The Man in the High Castle and/or Netflix's Jessica Jones?

Though we learn a lot about Alec's background and the mission that significantly impacted his post-Manticore life, we also become more aware of Joshua's continuing development as an artist and a member of Max's extended family. Will Max change her opinion of Alec now that she knows the truth about the horrors those she left behind were forced to endure? Guest star Meghan Ory appears as Alec's piano student and ends up as his first, and perhaps only, love. And you just have to love Joshua throwing his first ever dinner party replete with macaroni and cheese and hot dogs.

November 20th finally arrived and with it the 13 episode first season of Marvel's Jessica Jones starring Krysten Ritter in the title role. We're introduced to a broken former superhero now earning a living as a hard-boiled detective taking the jobs that no one else wants or can see through to the end. But she has a dark past, and the man who nearly broke her, who she also believes is dead, has returned and imposed his will on another young woman. Though we don't get to see much of David Tennant's Kilgrave in the first episode, just seeing the effect he has on Jessica is enough to send chills up and down your spine.

Another X-5 turns up in Seattle, but Brain not at all like those we've met up to this point. Designed to predict battle events and how individual soldiers will react to specific battlefield situations, Brain has had his eye on Max since they were children. Continuum's Terry Chen turns up as a member of the oft times ineffectual rebel group S1W, and Max once again saves Asha.

Dave talks about the benefits of the Internet staple IMDB and the inherent problems with rebooting classic science fiction television shows that died before their time. And what's wrong with Supergirl's outfit?

Saturday Nov 07, 2015

Wayne tries to dissuade Dave from giving up on The Leftovers before they launch into their Dark Angel discussion. While searching for a pencil for Max, Joshua inadvertently discovers his artistic side which enables Alec to turn a quick buck selling his emotionally charged paintings. However, the introduction of a second genetic engineering group sets us on a journey to discover the history of this nearly ten thousand year old experiment.

Wayne brings together the disparate forces that are zombie television and ice hockey film. Quick takes on iZombie, Z Nation, The Walking Dead, and Fear the Walking Dead let us into Wayne's world (see what I did there) of horror television. He presents his Top 5 Hockey Movie list, but are you kidding me, no Youngblood?
