Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the guys are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the YouTube production Impulse, and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the episode’s failings which include shoddy dialogue, questionable character decisions, and a failure to significantly advance the overall plot. Still, we both like the addition of Henry’s former boyfriend Josh, and consider the first stages of Jenna’s exploration of her sexual identity.
In our What We're Watching segment, Dave’s five episodes into Netflix’s The Witcher and points out one of the more intriguing Netflix offerings that’s dropped in the past few weeks – the Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffatt interpretation of the Dracula tale. Not surprisingly, Wayne talks about the return of Doctor Who and gives the Series 12 premiere high marks.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands wonders how Josh’s introduction affects Henry’s attitude and whether Townes’ sister might play a role in Jenna’s search.

Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the guys are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the YouTube production Impulse, and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the pilot episode of YouTube’s science fiction series Impulse. We enter a world in which teleportation is not only possible but begins to change the life of teenager Henry Coles as she attempts to navigate a new home and a new family. It appears that physical and emotional trauma may trigger Henry’s “jumps,” but even that’s not clear at this time.
In our What We're Watching segment, Dave has just about completed the first season of the Apple TV + alternate history For All Mankind, while Wayne finally abandons The Walking Dead in favor of multiple viewings of HBO’s Watchmen.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands make a visual connection between Impulse’s central character played by Maddie Hasson and a young Amanda Schull from 12 Monkeys.

Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the guys are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the BBC production Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the series finale and consider how England will react to the re-emergence of magic.
In our What We're Watching segment, Dave suggests checking out the Apple TV + literary series Dickinson whose use of anachronistic dialogue helps drive the half hour episodes. Wayne disagrees with many critics as he touts the HBO series Watchmen and asks viewers to consider there's more to a show than rigidly following the source material.
In Listener Feedback, Fred's wife makes an appearance, but he can only give Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell a passing grade. Not bad, but not great.

Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the guys are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the BBC production Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the impact the Battle of Waterloo has on Jonathan’s state of mind as he tries to resume his life with Arabella. We still don’t understand the Gentleman’s end game, and also discuss the morally ambiguous Stephen who seems to be torn about his association with the faerie at the center of the tale. Did Dave really compare Jonathan to Lamar Jackson?
In our What We're Watching segment, Wayne, once again, claims he’s done with The Walking Dead, but continues to love HBOs Watchmen and the associated source material. Continuing with his love of historical dramas, Dave has been watching the Catherine the Great mini-series and looks forward to season three of The Crown.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands asks whether Jonathan Strange suffers from PTSD and notices a connection between Arabella 2.0’s demand that Jonathan renounce all wives and the requirement that a vampire must be invited into a home.
