Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for the pilot of NBC Peacock’s Brave New World, and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the series premiere of NBC Peacock’s Brave New World. While it’s difficult to completely divorce ourselves from Huxley’s novel, we judge the show on its own merits as an independent entity that is “influenced by” the classic 1932 dystopian work.
In our What We're Watching segment, Dave completes Simon Barry’s latest offering Warrior Nun, and even though he’s fairly satisfied with the current season of Marvel Agents of SHIELD, whether Fitz ever returns doesn’t matter to him any more. Caught a bit off guard by Norsemen’s third season, Wayne, nonetheless, is on board with the narrative paradigm shift.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands wonders whether the writers of NBC Peacock’s Brave New World will draw from previous attempts to bring Huxley’s novel to the small screen.

Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for the third and final season of Dark , and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the series finale “The Paradise,” and examine the Tannhaus twist that introduces the third and decisive world. Dave argues that Dark should be viewed as an allegory, and though Wayne agrees with that interpretation, he also introduces another religious connection. We also announce that next we will take a look at the pilot for NBC Peacock’s Brave New World.
Because of the depth of our Dark discussion, we have temporarily suspended the What We're Watching segment. It will resume at a later date.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands checks in with his weekly audio report, and we hear from Dan S, Cincinnati Joe, Dan, and Johnny from Ohio via email.

This week on SciFi TV Rewatch the show’s recurring symbols and motifs make up much of the discussion as we revisit the yellow coat, yellow dress, and yellow barrels in addition to the “For Charlotte” pocket watch, St. Christopher medal, and the bracelet that young Tronte gives to Jana. Though we spend much of the episode in 1954, it’s the startling revelation Adam presents Yellow Coat Martha that sets the tone for the remainder of the series.
In our What We're Watching segment, Dave returns to the international crime drama arena and begins the Finnish series Deadwind which just dropped its second season. Wayne finishes watching the Disney film of the hit Broadway play Hamilton.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands points out that the lips scars of the Unknown trio change sides depending on which world they inhabit. Are there, in fact, two sets of trios?

Adam’s motives remain unclear, and the provenance of the “For Charlotte” pocket watch adds even more mystery to the story. We also contemplate whether or not the cycle can even be broken and whether individuals are doomed to repeat their pasts.

Wayne and his family check out Disney’s latest streaming effort of the hit Broadway play Hamilton, and he learns that his son still remembers the lyrics to the soundtrack.

This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the return of Dark for its third and final season which appears to now center on Jonas and Alt Martha and their attempt to save both their worlds from disaster. Will the Adam and Eve motif ultimately lead to a Garden of Eden scenario that allows both universes to survive, or will difficult choices have to be made? While we enjoy a certain familiarity with most of the characters, the introduction of a mysterious trio raises even more questions.
In our What We're Watching segment, Dave nears the end of season one of Once Upon a Time and begins the sophomore offering of the Netflix fantasy, horror series The Order. Wayne suggests Dave check out the Matt Damon drama Ford v Ferrari.
