Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for the fifth episode of the Netflix fantasy series Ragnarok, and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the turmoil within the Jutul family as Vidar and Ran engage in a brief knife fight, but it’s the well designed clash between brother and sister that highlights the episode. Is Fjor’s affection for Gry true, and will she be collateral damage once the real battle begins? Perhaps just as important are the hints that Iman may be the seer described in the opening sequence.
In our What We're Watching segment, Dave makes it to season four of The Last Kingdom and reminds listeners of the return of The 100 and Marvel Agents of SHIELD. Wayne provides a cautionary warning about the HBO series Run. His basic message? Run away as quickly as you can.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands wonders who, in fact, is in charge of the Jutul family.

Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for the pilot episode of the TNT series Snowpiercer, and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the long awaited TNT addition to the world of Snowpiercer starring Daveed Diggs as Layton and Jennifer Connelly as Melanie, the voice of the train. Wayne mentions initial difficulties divorcing the events of the pilot episode from those of the film, but once that was accomplished, both hosts give “First, The Weather Changed” high marks.
In our What We're Watching segment, Dave binges the first season of The Last Kingdom, and while he’s not ready to pronounce it better than Vikings, it’s at least in the conversation. Wayne goes international with the Netflix drama Fauda, a series that explores the human side of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands reminds us that even though he wasn’t able to watch the series opener in time for the podcast, the film piqued his interest.

Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the Netflix production Ragnarok, and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the long awaited revelation of Magne’s true identity and that of the Jutul family. As both sides begin jockeying for position in the coming battle, a new character enters the picture, and Gry takes her relationship with Fjor to the next level. Does Turid possess knowledge of the ancient battle between the gods and the giants, and who will ultimately stand with Thor as he attempts to restore order on Earth?
In our What We're Watching segment, Dave finally checks out the HBO alternate history series The Plot Against America which employs Philip Roth’s 2004 novel as a jumping off point for a story that finds American hero Charles Lindbergh defeating Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the 1940 presidential election. Wayne, once again tries to convince Dave to check out The Last Kingdom.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands reminds us that the showrunner and Executive Producer of the upcoming series Snowpiercer is none other than Orphan Black EP Graeme Manson.

Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the YouTube production Impulse, and our listener feedback.
This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the long range implications of the visual reveals that take place during dinner at the Jutul home, and the role Gry might play as the story unfolds. We consider who’s in charge of the Jutul family anyway, and speculate about what they buried in the mountain way back in 1967?
In our What We're Watching segment, Wayne decides to rewatch  the first two seasons of The Last Kingdom as he works his way through season four which dropped in late April. Dave begins the newest season of Showtime’s Billions and binges the second season of My Brilliant Friend on HBO.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands informs us that he’s chosen the third episode of Hemlock Grove’s first season as one of his Patreon rewards.

This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss episode 2 of the Norwegian Netflix fantasy series Ragnarok. It seems fairly clear to both of us that Magne’s transformation into the god Thor has nearly reached a tipping point, and a large scale act can’t be far behind. Enough hints are also dropped about his brother Laurits that we feel safe in anointing him the 21st century Loki. But what of the Jutul family? Gods or giants?
In our What We're Watching segment, Wayne reluctantly can’t comment on the current season of Westworld, but suffice it to say, he loves it. Dave continues his Westworld rewatch and has nearly completed the second season. He also looks forward to the new incarnation of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands still feels good about his prediction that Laurits may be Vidar’s son.
